"Do not buy!" what a ridiculous thing to say, who are you to tell anyone what to buy or what not to buy and just because it isn't the locked up Disney version, give me a break. Parents, if you have a little Mowgli fan at home, then you might think about getting them this film. Sure, it isn't as good or imaginative as the Disney version but you will find that this version has a lot of advantages over the Disney version as well as many other Disney films. For one thing, this film is available. By that I mean that you will probably not be able to get Disney's The Jungle Book anywhere without spending a fortune, because Disney, in order to keep money coming in future releases, has the film locked up in their ridiculous "vault." Second of all, this version is more true to the original book, it wasn't made to be a show for repeated sequences of musical numbers, although it features one or two songs. The story is more interesting here as well, this one actually has a plot, something that was missing from the Disney version. Third, even when being released from the vault, the Disney version will sell for about $29.00, when you can get this one for $16.00 or less and not worry about it going up after being sent into the "Goodtimes vault." For your children, this is a very good choice, sure the animation isn't a spectacle but kids don't expect it to be, I didn't notice the lower picture quality until I was about 13 years old. Please, don't listen to reviews written from an adult's perspective when choosing films for your children, most of these always say "My children love it, but I don't, don't buy it" which is a most ridiculous statement when reviewing children's entertainment. Another films I recommend from Goodtimes, or "Collectible Classics" are Pocahontas, Leo the Lion and Thumbelina.
